INDEPENDENTLY PRODUCED COMICS/STORIES/PICTURES

Matador Sequential could be described as a delicate mixture of low-fi romance, burlesque and 90′s rock inspired violence teetering on the edge of comics and alternative friendship theories. J. Tenney would say the whole bloodstained mess is about our very lives, intricately connected to our idiosyncratic personae and spanning, like ivy-green kudzu, to our precious friends who rule the bridged kingdom within our skulls. Our title comic, Bastards of The Infinite, is perhaps the most effective of Matador Sequential’s vignettes. The narrative deals with an alternative group of super-powered “twenty-somethings” and their poor dealings with transitory lifestyles, guilt, absurdity, dick jokes and the volition to power. Other works supporting the Matador banner include Amoral Tales, a mirror of the author’s own youth in savage jungles of North Carolina. It relies heavily on the biographical happenings of Z. Durst and the Goons of Shelby slums, Boone and other non-forgottens. Tales of the Matador is a throwback title dedicated to our own ‘cape’, and serves as an outlet for some of the fan-boy creations of our childhood. Girl & Dog Romance, a solo work by the artist, addresses his personal struggles with infatuation, desire, infidelity and responsibility. In the uncomfortably close future, The boys hope to produce an outer space ballad inspired by the great stargazing rock n roll cowboys of Alpha Centauri, a new series of web-style comics, and 101 new ways to visually express bitter-sweetness.
